Well Educated Python

Some years ago my sister and her children were living in a rented house at Round Corner, Dural , which was then considered a rural suburb of Sydney. She had no idea that the house already had a permanent tenant until she turned on the TV one evening after they had settled in.

She sensed that someone or something was outside the window and when she looked was absolutely astounded to find a very large carpet snake hanging suspended from the roof guttering. It was gazing intently at the TV screen and remained their until 8.30pm when all the news and current affairs programmes finished. Then it retreated back to the roof.

This happened every evening for the entire time she lived in that house, except for the winter months when the snake hibernated.

When she moved to her own home she and the children really missed their evening companion.
