Misty

A few years ago when I was single and carefree I decided to get a cat, as I came from the country and always had animals I needed something to love and care for. I found a website where you can advertise animals for new homes and I found a cat that I must have, her name was Misty and she was nine years old. I went to have a look at her and the lady told me her family had moved to australia and she was trying to find a home for her, she also said another lady was on her way home from seeing misty to try and get her husband to let her have her. I said i'll rehome her now and just like that we were off home. Well misty didnt like me much she slept, she ate then she would sleep more, i couldnt pat her or pick her up or anything. When Spring came I decided to get a kitten as Misty didnt want a bar of me, I just let her do her thing while I did mine. Of course Max the kitten wanted to play and of course she didnt, everyday Misty would growl, swipe and hiss at Max, I hoped one day they might get on but as time went on they didnt. Misty just kept sleeping, swiping and hissing. But one night I heard a horrible noise out the back door, my Max being a small cat was getting beaten up by a tom. he was making such a horrible noise, it was terrible, then suddenly out of the cat door jumped Misty she got between the two cats and swiped and hissed and chased the Tom cat away. I couldnt believe my eyes, my Misty huh? She just saved Max?? Then she turnedand went back inside. To this day she still growls at Max occasionally if he gets too close but they have a mutual understanding and as for Misty and I well she will sit on my lap when she wants and has a nice wee comfy pillow on my bed which she purrs on. I think she may have slowly come round to liking me not the other way round.

How nice of you to adopt a older cat (9 years old). Normally, everyone only wants to adopt a kitten.

Good story!

Yes Angela. I think you have won her over.
