We worked out that our ‘pound puppy special’ Timmy, a gorgeous auburn/brindle Staffordshire/Labrador cross, was less likely to wake us up during the night to be let outside if he was covered up with a blanket. All four sides had to be well tucked in so that he didn’t get cold. When Timmy was told to go to bed, he would go and get his blanket and drag it after him so that we could tuck him in.
Our daughter Jessica was not feeling well and had lain down on the floor to watch television, when Timmy came into the room. He immediately left, but was back a few moments later dragging his blanket after him. He then pulled it up over Jessica and proceeded to tuck in all four corners of the blanket, one by one.
I guess Timmy thought Jessica would find being tucked in comforting too!
