Daisy could count
We had a wonderful white miniature poodle named Daisy. She was funny, smart, always cheerful and loving. She spurned all lovers until she was six years old when a neighbor's black poodle climbed our chain link fence. It was instant love. Daisy had 5 solid black puppies. When the puppies were about 7 weeks old, Daisy stood on her back legs, stretched as far as she could, and bit off 6 small twigs from the apple tree. She then called her puppies which came running. She tossed one stick up and down and ran with it until the puppies caught on and grabbed their sticks. My husband still doesn't believe this story, but I saw it with my own eyes. Daisy lived a long, happy life with us--17 years.
