Animal Doc

I had a cat named Maxwell, and when Max was about 3 I also got a 6 month old Border Collie called Sasha. The two became the best of friends, they would play for hours together and when I called them in for dinner Sasha would pick max up by the scruff of the neck and bring him inside.

About 2 years after Sasha arrived Max got into a fight and developed an ulcer on the top of his head almost the size of an egg. As he had had a similar injury before I thought a trip to the vet would be required. But Sasha took charge an started licking the wound, The first night the ulcer burst but Sasha kept on licking. As the wound looked clean I thought I would leave it and see what happened. For the next 10 - 12 days Sasha licked Max's head for up to 3 hours a night. After the first night the wound quickly got smaller and within 2 weeks the ulcer was completely gone.

Sasha knew Max was hurt and she new just what to do to help her friend recover.

That is so neat. I have actually heard that a dog's tongue is healing. I have friends that even shy away from being licked by ANY dog.
But think about it, who took care of their wounds in the wild, there were no vets.
Nice story, thanks for sharing!

Another good story downgraded by downvoters who won't leave a comment. About time the Webmaster made it mandatory for a comment to be left when someone votes.
